Each beautiful poem takes me closer to my ancestors.
This collection of poetry will remain on my bedside table as I re-read and imagine a fate that could have been my own. Each poem is honest and unique. I was brought on a journey through a painful past that is so thoughtfully told.

Cranberries & Canada Geese ¿ Webber's Northern Lodges, Our Most Requested
Published in Spiral-bound by Centax Books and Distribution (03 May, 1996)
Authors: Helen Webber, Marie Woolsey, Margo Embury, Ross Hutchinson, and Barbara Stone
Average review score:

An excellent down-to-earth cookbook
I found this cookbook not only easy to follow, but that it did not require any special ingrediants. All that is required in the recipes you can find in your own cupboard, which is helpful, especially if you want to whip something up spur of the moment. I also found the recipes to be very tasty and easy to make. Family and friends really enjoyed and complimented me on the meals I whipped up for them from this recipe book. I highly recommend this book to anyone, not just to someone whose husband is an avid hunter. I have substituted beef for the wild meats and found that the recipes worked just as well. A delightful cookbook to have and use.

The Curse of the Squirrel (Stepping Stone Books)
Published in Paperback by Random House (Merchandising) (September, 1987)
Authors: Laurence Yep and Dirk Zimmer
Average review score:

The curse of the squirrel
This is one of the greatest books that I have ever read. I feel that the play along tape is essential to really enjoying this book. The old timing blue grass music, alongside the great voice of the narrator, turns this book into an adventure that completely takes over the senses. Plus you get to hear the voices of the characters, and all of the really great sound effects. I can not go on enough about how great this story is. It is completely original and very creative. I am sure that while you are reading and listening; this book will stir up your imagination into a fun filled frenzy. This is an absolutely wonderful book, and I recomend it to anyone and everyone.

Cut Stones and Crossroads: A Journey in the Two Worlds of Peru
Published in Hardcover by Viking Press (June, 1986)
Author: Ronald Wright
Average review score:

If you only read one book about Peru...
This book takes the reader on a journey through several cities and archeological sites of Peru. The archeological information is wonderful and there is a large bibliography, glossary of Quechua terms as well as a discography of Andean music. Some of the descriptions will take your breath away with the beauty of the picture he paints and the skillfully crafted writing. This thoughtful book goes beneath the skin and touches the soul of Peru. A must-read before going to Peru!

CybeRelations
Published in Mass Market Paperback by J & K Enterprises (01 April, 1997)
Authors: Daniel James, Kathleen Florence, Michael Stone, and Mary Guglielmo
Average review score:

A unique look at relationships formed online.
This is one of the only books available that addresses this issue. Many people form transient and very fulfilling cyber relationships, but I have not seen a book devoted to those relationships and what impact they have, both on the cyber parties involved and their families and friends. CybeRelations looks at those strange, wonderful, fast-moving 'affairs of the keyboard' in a humorous and exposing light. I enjoyed reading and re-reading certain chapters, and would really like to know what happened to most of these people. Thanks should go to both authors, Daniel and Kathleen, for taking what appears to be an enourmous amount of time putting this book together.

D Is for Dreidel: A Hanukkah Alphabet Book
Published in Paperback by Price Stern Sloan Pub (August, 2002)
Authors: Tanya Lee Stone and Dawn Apperley
Average review score:

Charming and appealing!
This is a delightful book! A must-buy for the Hanukkah season. The rhyme is clever and the vocabulary simple enough for small children. The book introduces kids to this special holiday and to the alphabet at the same time. There is a real need for a book like this that conveys the warmth of Hanukkah to pre-school children.

Dancing on the Stones : Selected Essays
Published in Paperback by University of New Mexico Press (01 March, 2000)
Author: John Nichols
Average review score:

The World's Best Word Pilot
Mr. Nichols continues to amaze and delight his readers. As a novelist he lives in an invented world but as an essayast he takes his master's skill at prose and knifes into the butter of living in a world he finds all too real. "Dancing On The Stones" allows the reader to hop safely from the rocks of reality onto the reefs of fantsy. John's reality in Taos becomes the reader's virtual trip to his moral values. The trip is a maze of lofty thoughts bottomed by harsh facts and an unpleasant insistence on making one's living while living with what one makes. If more of us had John Nichols's insight into nature we'd see our world the way he sees his: life exists in spite of nature and life is as fragile as the clouds which enhance and hide it.

Darkroom Dynamics: A Guide to Creative Darkroom Techniques
Published in Paperback by Focal Press (June, 1985)
Author: Jim Stone
Average review score:

Great book of creative dakroom techniques
This book is packed full of step-by-step instructions for alternative creative darkroom techniques. The instructions are easy to follow and the photo illustrations are well placed to enhance the readers understanding. Each technique is presented by a photographer who is an expert in its application, so the information comes across comprehensive yet it is still easy to understand. This is a great book. I am glad to have it as a part of my personal photo library. It will be well used.

A Decade of Champions

Authors: Richard Stone Reeves and Patrick Robinson
Average review score:

Spectacular
Just the sound of their names, makes your hair stand on end, and your heart beat faster. Bold Ruler, the sire of so many greats. Secretariat, can anyone ever forget his thirty one length win in the Belmont, making him the first Triple Crown winner in 25 years. Ruffian, the magnificent filly who came to grief in the fateful match race against Foolish Pleasure . The names go on Alleged, Spectacular Bid, Every page has a story to tell of these champions of the track

This is the book of all books for the thoroughbred lover. None can compare. The text is beautifully written, making you feel you know each animal, and all their quirks. The paintings by Reeves are magnificent, you feel you could reach out and stroke a velvet nose, or caress a silky ear.

I purchsed my copy in 1980 and along side my 1976 copy of Classic Lines these books are my pride and joy.

If you love thoroughbreds, this book is a must, you will thrill every time you read it.
